Song Leader Mentorship
Are you feeling called to lead songs in your community, but unsure where to begin? Or perhaps you’re already leading songs, but longing for more confidence, clarity, or support along the way.
These one-on-one mentoring sessions are designed for individuals seeking to develop or deepen their skills as Community Song Leaders. Whether you're just starting out or have been leading for years, these sessions will meet you exactly where you are. Together, we’ll explore the practical skills, inner confidence, and deep listening that song-leading asks of us.
Each session is collaborative, supportive, and shaped around your unique goals and questions. You’re invited to bring real-life situations, challenges, or dreams into our work together.
At its heart, song-leading is about connection, not perfection. It’s about holding this world’s tender hearts, and cultivating the tools to do so with presence, care, and self-compassion.
This world needs more Song Leaders, and I’m here to support you in becoming one.
In our sessions, we may explore:
Building confidence in your voice and presence
Learning and teaching songs in the oral tradition
How to start (or grow) a Community Singing group
Holding and facilitating inclusive and welcoming spaces for all voices

Designing the flow and pace of your Community Singing session
How to integrate group singing into your current work and the spaces you hold
Navigating nerves, self-doubt, or imposter feelings

Building a sustainable offering: the business of song leading
Practice! Have the opportunity to lead a song with me, and receive constructive feedback

“Mila embodies the spirit of this work - that music isn't just something we perform, but a shared language that helps us connect to ourselves and each other. Through thoughtful exercises, reflection, and practice, Mila shows us how to cultivate sacred moments of collective resonance. This isn’t a technical exercise, but a deeper experiential learning process that reveals the transformative power of Community Singing as a practice of presence, joy and human connection.” - Mary Tangelder, Toronto
